We are looking for someone who is passionate about engineering and thrives on innovation to help build the tooling for the world’s most innovative mobile devices.
- Lead the development of new plastic tooling projects to meet wide range of product performance and cosmetic requirements for iPhone tooling.
- Troubleshooting issues in scientific approach with the use of engineering tools/techniques such as decoupled molding, scientific molding approach, Tolerance Analysis, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma techniques.
- Serve as Apple’s internal expert for the molding process by leveraging a
thorough understanding of various material properties and tool component
fabrication techniques.
- BS/MS in Engineering, Plastics Technology, Polymer Science, or equivalent.
- With hand-on molding process experiences, and able to setup, optimize the molding process independently.
- Well-trained in scientific injection molding, e.g RJG certified master molder training
- Familiar with issue troubleshooting, such as cosmetics, dimensions, and deformation etc. Systematic and strong logical sense
- Strong communication skills - written presentation and verbal
- Frequent travel within the region is required
- Experience in developing plastic processing parameters with hands-on experience in mold setup, process optimization, and problem-solving.
- Able to analyze mold flow analysis, scientific study, and provide improvement feedback.
- Good knowledge in wide range of materials such as engineering plastic, liquid silicon rubber, thermal plastics, MIM, primer and epoxy.
- Good knowledge of geometric dimensioning.
- Good knowledge of hot runner systems application and scientific molding technique.
- Experience in managing and developing precision parts, high-pace, and mass-volume products with multiple vendors in parallel.
- Excellent in written, presentation, and oral communication
- Systematic, analytical & strong troubleshooting skills
