Managing silicon commodity and chemical-heavy processes for optics & chips; Responsible for creating should-cost models using market research, supplier information and technical feedback; Drive supply plans of highly engineered products in a constrained supply chain with long lead times due to chemistry and process maps; Driving material selection moving into higher technology nodes and using chemical engineering expertise to partner with Engineering teams; Managing supply of highly engineered products in a constrained supply chain with long lead times; Acting as the liaison between Apple’s product teams and the industries supplying core technologies; Developing and executing sourcing strategies as well as recommending product innovations based on improving technology; Developing and applying expertise in market dynamics, negotiation and pricing strategies, manufacturing processes, and risk mitigation; and Driving centralized capacity planning for all components used across Apple products and facilitating long-term strategic deals within the Global Sourcing & Supply Management team. International Travel Required 20%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $216,091 - $236,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

- Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering degree or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
- Managing global supplier selection and qualification processes for highly engineered components using structured sourcing methodologies, including RFP/RFQ development, supplier audits, and multi-variable supplier scorecards.
- Using Microsoft Excel for advanced data analytics, including cost modeling, sensitivity analysis, and large dataset manipulation (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, regression).
- Applying Six Sigma or process engineering tools to drive supplier performance improvements, including yield improvement, cycle time reduction, and root cause/corrective action.
- Utilizing risk mitigation within supply chain operations, including dual sourcing, capacity ramp planning, and supplier contingency plans during constrained supply environments.
- Using engineering change control processes, including reviewing and implementing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), coordinating cross-functional approvals, and ensuring supplier change validation during NPI and mass production phases.
- Performing total cost of ownership (TCO) and financial statement analysis of suppliers to support make/buy decisions, assess supplier financial health, and negotiate pricing strategies.
- Managing supplier relationships across Asia, North America, or Europe, including site visits, quarterly business reviews, supplier development initiatives, and corrective action planning.
- Creating and executing commodity strategies for imaging or sensor-based components, involving market analysis, technology road-mapping, and alignment with R&D or product development teams.
