Do you want to help reshape the future of productivity software for millions of creators and consumers worldwide? Are you passionate about building fluid, intuitive user experiences across macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and visionOS?
The Numbers team within Apple’s Visual Productivity Apps group is looking for an engineer to help build the next generation of iWork, Freeform, and core visual productivity technologies. In this role, you will design and deliver features across tables, charts, and data canvases, crafting code that is as elegant and high-performing as the experiences it powers.
As an engineer on the Numbers team, you will contribute to exciting and powerful features in tables, charts, and spreadsheets that are used across Apple apps like Freeform, Keynote, Numbers, and Pages. You’ll work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment where engineering, human interface design, and QA partner closely from initial concept to launch.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate closely with engineers, Human Interface designers, and product partners to brainstorm, prototype, and ship innovative interactions and visual capabilities.
Design, optimize, and evolve the core calculation engine that powers Numbers, ensuring high throughput, thread safety, and instant responsiveness across massive datasets and complex formula dependency graphs.
Tackle complex engineering challenges across massive data sets, high-performance rendering, and multi-touch/spatial interaction models.
Navigate and evolve a large, mature codebase by diagnosing subtle issues, improving testability, and delivering robust architectural enhancements.
Prototype novel concepts rapidly and present compelling technical demos to cross-functional teams and leadership.
Keep the user experience at the center of every technical decision, sweating the details to deliver software that delights.
