This APO Logistics Manager role will be based in Shanghai, leading APO Log team in managing of China/Southeast Asis OEM back-dock operations, in-country/region road transportation, Air/Sea/Rail freight operations from various gateways at origin. This person shall be responsible for the key metrics, managing its OEMs & 3rd party logistics suppliers to meet or exceed designated critical metrics and deal with internal/external customers with full flexibility & adaptability. Demonstrated wide and deep understanding to OEM warehouse operations, international and domestic freight in developing sustainable, cost effective and carbon neutral supply chain in the leading position. As the team leader, it’s also the key goals for establishing an efficient team by demonstrating the career development.
- • Establish strategies / tactical plan to scale and support the team support structure and business needs within APO, Regional and WW Logistics Team.
- • Develop WW project / execution plan to support volume surge and NPI launches and ensuring suppliers compliance to Apple HSR/FSR and Secure-Ship Operations.
- • Interface closely with the Worldwide / Regional Logistics team on daily operations and update them on any logistics risk, challenges & developments within China.
- • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess supplier’s key performance indices and implement operational improvements across the supply-chain.
- • Commit to operational excellence in achieving on-time shipment execution at origin and maintaining product confidentiality, (zero loss, zero disclosure) for all NPI shipments.
- • Engage and provide sound guidance and support on new suppliers on-boarding (OEMs, freight forwarders and 3PLs). Work with them on cost savings and carbon footprint reduction initiatives through process and packaging improvements.
- • Periodically conduct impromptu freight forwarder’s warehouse security audits in the drive to ensure compliance to Apple’s HSR & FSR requirements.
- • Work closely with all Suppliers to ensure Apple’s FGs & AppleCares TDM & specific Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) are met.
- • Develop and optimize logistics networking in achieving the shortest delivery cycle-time time for inbound material movements.
- • Able to travel as required on short notices to international or domestic cities to support APO Logistics overall requirements.
- • BA degree with minimum of 3-5 years proven logistics & supply chain experience or equivalent. Preference would include a wider knowledge on the different types of freight management i.e. Bulk, Parcel, Ocean, Domestic/cross-border transportation and data analysis / system development knowledge and skillset would be preferred.
- • Concreted people management experience and group development skill set.
- • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with the team.
- • Strong functional knowledge in domestic & global freight market, best practices, industry benchmarking. Well verse with supply-chain and have good logistics networking relationship with key and reputable contributors in the freight industry.
- • Strong vendor management skills and working experience with major 3PLs.
- • Ability to generate creative ideas and has excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- • Ability of self-learning in advanced analytics & leading continuous process improvement, Cost-Saving, Green Logistics by leveraging AI/ML & RPA solution.
- • Great teammate with a keen-to-learn attitude, proactive, innovative and with good leadership quality. Energetic, positive attitude and the ability to accept and manage change in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- • Capable of working individually or as part of a multi-task functional team to cut through ambiguity to decide and act without having the total picture and comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.
- • Capable to deal with predicated situations, events and emergencies with BCPs developed for business continuity and sustainability
- • Establish individual development plan system and measurement with career plan designed for each team member.
- • Strong communication skills in English & Mandarin, proficient in other international languages will be a plus.
