The Environmental Health & Safety team at Apple is growing and we are looking for an upbeat, dedicated and flexible professional to join a team committed to protecting the environment, health, and safety of our employees, customers and the global communities where we operate, while supporting our partners in their mission to develop amazing products.
As Apple's EHS Lead, you will provide all aspects of EHS support across a variety of workplace settings including but not limited to office spaces, content production stages, and research laboratories. You are a self-starter who can work independently, anticipate the needs of the team, and take initiative to seek out improvement opportunities. You are inventive, ambitious, and highly organized individual who enjoys solving problems in creative ways in a fast-paced environment.
As an Apple EHS Lead, you have a deep understanding of occupational health and safety requirements and workplace evaluation, as well as a knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and laws. A proven track record to effectively interact and influence is crucial.
- Performing EHS inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and global standards
- Coordinating chemical inventories, emergency evacuation drills, new equipment and chemical reviews, operational risk assessments, and regulatory agency inspections and completing assigned compliance tasks in a timely manner
- Conducting incident investigations and developing corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences
- Staying up to date on regulations and standard processes, and making recommendations for improvements to procedures and programs
- Handling EHS documentation and record keeping, ensuring all vital permits and reports are completed accurately and on time
- Acting as a point of contact for EHS related inquiries and concerns from employees and onsite contractors
- Coordinating and responding to onsite emergency response efforts
- Participating in the review of operations, processes, and procedures at the proposal/design phase and throughout implementation to control and reduce EHS hazards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement EHS initiatives and improvements, - Providing mentorship and training to employees on procedures and practices to promote an outstanding culture.
- 7+ years of EHS experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant EHS discipline
- Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies
- Experience in developing, maintaining and implementing written EHS programs and processes, tools, and materials
- Experience providing laboratory and facilities EHS support
- Ability to be on call and work off hours as needed, and is comfortable with acting as a first responder in emergency scenarios
- Master’s degree in a relevant EHS discipline
- EHS experience in multi-national companies
- Nationally recognized professional credentials preferred (i.e., Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM))
