Live-streaming Writer & Editorial Manager - Douyin

We are seeking a passionate and talented manager to lead the Writer & Editorial team for Apple’s Douyin Livestream. The manger will guide and develop a team of livestream script writers, editors, and Product demo creator & host trainers, to establish engaging scripts, seamless storytelling, and polished editorial content, as well as polished, ready-to-use demos, to demonstrate our products and brand values and resonate with audiences on China’s leading short video and livestream platform.

Responsibilities includes not limited to - Lead, coach and develop a team of high performing scriptwriters, editors and demo creators. Support and deliver end-to-end content creation process for Apple’s live-streaming, including crafting integrated scripts, developing compelling product demos, creating accessible feature-explaining segments, and guiding hosts on flow, transitions and audience-focused pacing. Oversee the alignment of Apple's livestream scripts with the brand voice, Douyin's platform culture and Chinese audience expectations. Maintain content consistency, tone and pacing while optimizing based on performance insights and audience feedback. Champion the cross-functional review process, ensuring all content is thoroughly vetted by BA, Legal, Marcom, Product Marketing and Platform teams for accuracy and compliance. Establishes a clear training structure for writers and demo creators to constantly enhance their editorial skills and prepare them to craft the content & demo following Apple’s standard and meeting Douyin customer’s needs. Proactively incorporates audience feedback and data-driven insights to continuously refine content, demo approaches and host delivery. Partner with People partners and the operations team to plan and manage recruiting, training, developing, and retaining a diverse, high-performing team. Proven experience in scriptwriting, editorial, demo, or content creation—ideally in livestream, short video, broadcast production, consumer tech, retail, or media.
Team management experience in above landscapes with proven leadership capabilities and deep function expertise.
Proficient in brand-aligned storytelling, livestream pacing, scriptwriting, and editing; skilled at simplifying complex product features into relatable content.
Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional partners and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Experience working with human resources in areas pertinent to employee management such as performance, welfare and development.
Able to work in different Apple offices & studios and being flexible for weekend and night shift.
Mandarin and English fluency required.

BS/BA in related field or equivalent experience, MBA/MA or advanced degree preferred.
Deep understanding of China’s digital ecosystem, consumer behaviors, and Douyin’s engagement formats.
Exceptional ability to problem solve, develop creative solutions, and demonstrate.
Adept at building collaborative bridges and fostering relationships with cross functional, in addition to flexibly adapting to feedback.
Drive operational excellence by identifying and implementing operational processes that help improve operational metrics and drive efficiency.

Self starter with proven ability to influence across teams to drive innovation and results.
