Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other’s ideas stronger. As part of our Battery Engineering group, you will craft creative battery solutions that deliver more energy in smaller spaces than ever before. Join us, and you’ll help innovate new battery technologies that continually outperform previous iterations.
We are looking for a highly technical, self-driven Hardware Validation Engineering Lead with a strong Electrical Engineering (EE) background. In this role, you will serve as the regional technical authority for Battery Management Unit (BMU) and battery pack qualification. You will bridge the gap between deep EE hardware debugging and strategic vendor management, ensuring our products meet the highest safety and performance standards.
This is a dynamic “player-coach” role within our Battery Qualification team. You will be the primary technical owner of the regional battery lab, leading a team while collaborating closely with US-based Qualification Engineers.
Your short-to-mid-term focus will be highly technical and hands-on: designing Design of Experiments (DOEs), leading complex EE bench testing, and managing in-region BMU and pack vendors. Long-term, your mission is strategic: you will transition the workflow to oversee and audit vendor testing capabilities, driving continuous improvement in their quality and relying on them as mature testing partners. Travel to vendor sites in China (approx. 2-3 times per year, up to 2 weeks per trip) is required.
