This isn’t just a logistics role; it’s an opportunity to architect the future of global supply chain execution. Based in Shanghai, the APO Logistics Manager will lead the team managing China and Southeast Asia OEM back-dock operations, in-region transportation, and multi-modal freight operations. You won’t just manage operations; you will transform them. By integrating cutting-edge AI/ML, predictive analytics, and warehouse robotics, you will build a supply chain that is not only sustainable, cost-effective, and carbon-neutral, but relentlessly intelligent. We are looking for a visionary leader—someone who can command a complex global network, inspire a high-performing team, and drive technological innovation at Apple scale.
- Architect the Future: Establish visionary strategies and tactical execution plans to scale the APO, Regional, and WW Logistics network. You will design the blueprint for how Apple moves products globally, supporting unprecedented volume surges and critical New Product Introduction (NPI) launches.
- Pioneer Intelligent Logistics: Champion the integration of AI/ML tools and advanced data analytics. You won’t just look at data; you will use it to optimize routing, forecast demand with precision, and create a predictive, self-healing supply chain.
- Lead the Robotics Revolution: Drive our warehouse automation initiatives. You will oversee the strategic deployment and optimization of next-generation robotics (AMRs, AGVs) and automated storage/retrieval systems (AS/RS) alongside our OEMs and 3PLs, redefining efficiency and safety.
- Execute with Precision: Commit to absolute operational excellence. You will ensure flawless, on-time shipment execution while maintaining the impenetrable product confidentiality (zero loss, zero disclosure) that defines Apple’s NPI launches.
- Forge Strategic Partnerships: Engage, guide, and elevate our supplier network (OEMs, freight forwarders, 3PLs). You will transform vendors into strategic partners, driving joint initiatives in cost savings, process innovation, and aggressive carbon footprint reduction.
- Drive Compliance and Security: Conduct rigorous, impromptu security audits of freight forwarder warehouses, ensuring unyielding compliance with Apple’s High-Security Requirements (HSR) and Freight Security Requirements (FSR).
- Optimize the Network: Continuously analyze and re-engineer our logistics network to achieve the absolute shortest delivery cycle times for inbound materials, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in global freight.
- Empower and Elevate: Build and lead a world-class, inclusive team. You will establish individualized development plans, fostering a culture of continuous learning, digital upskilling, and fearless innovation.
- BA degree with a minimum of 15-20 years of proven, high-impact logistics and supply chain experience. A deep understanding of diverse freight management (Bulk, Parcel, Ocean, Domestic/cross-border) is essential.
- Strong technical foundation: Proficiency in data analysis, system development concepts, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). You must be comfortable querying data (e.g., SQL) to drive insights.
- Demonstrated excellence in people management, with a track record of building inclusive, high-performing, and adaptable teams.
- Tech-Forward Mindset: Proven ability to self-learn and implement advanced analytics, AI/ML concepts, and RPA solutions to drive continuous process improvement and Green Logistics.
- Automation Expertise: Familiarity with modern warehouse automation ecosystems, including autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and warehouse control systems (WCS).
- Master of Ambiguity: Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, technologically evolving environment. You can cut through ambiguity, make decisive actions without the total picture, and comfortably navigate risk and uncertainty.
- Strategic Communicator: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical recommendations into clear business impact for cross-functional executives. Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin; additional languages are a powerful asset.
- Exception Management: Uncanny problem-solving skills, particularly in scenarios where human judgment must complement automated systems and AI recommendations.
- Industry Authority: Deep functional knowledge of the global freight market, industry benchmarking, and a strong network of relationships with key players in the logistics space.
- Resilience and Continuity: Capable of managing crises and emergencies with robust Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) to ensure unwavering sustainability.
