ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.
At AMD, we believe technology can change lives for the better. It can heal us, entertain us, and make us more connected, productive, and understanding of the world around us. And we’re looking for talent who feel the same: people who want to leave the planet better than they found it, those who don’t shy away from humanity’s challenges but are determined to help solve them.
AMD is powering the next generation of supercomputing, high-performance computing, cloud, and AI. Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or creating go-to-market plans, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward.
Senior Manager QA (Systems)
THE ROLE:
AMD's Predictive Memory Tiering business unit is looking for a QA Manager to own the functional and non-functional quality of our performance-critical memory-tiering software. You will be responsible for the success of a growing QA team and AMD's high-performance quality goals. The role begins with aggressively hiring — inheriting one QA engineer and adding three more in your first 90 days to establish a core team of four — and scaling the team ahead of engineering growth (targeting a 1:4–1:5 QA-to-developer ratio).
You will take our existing test automation framework, eliminate architectural gaps, and implement robust quality processes across performance, durability, security, and user experience. This role suits a strategic quality leader passionate about building high-performing teams, designing progressive testing layers, establishing strong metrics, and championing modern, AI-augmented testing practices that focus on system behavior over syntactic overhead.
THE PERSON:
We are looking for a QA leader with proven experience building and motivating high-performing technical teams from the ground up, ideally in a fast-paced startup or high-velocity division of a larger technology company. The candidate will bring advanced Linux knowledge, intermediate Python scripting skills, and strong command of test automation strategy and modern DevOps tooling.
The manager will partner effectively across Product, Development, and DevOps teams, anticipate customer workloads to prevent escaped defects, and lead with empathy toward both deeply technical and non-technical partners. The manager will make decisions autonomously, manage rapidly changing priorities, and consistently drive to make things better, faster, and more cost-effective.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
REQUIREMENTS:
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent.
