Amazon's Supply Chain Optimization Technology organization is seeking a software development manager to build the next generation of supply chain planning software as part of its planning automation team. The Supply Chain Planning Automation team focuses on developing wide-ranging software that advances the quality, speed, and accuracy of the customer fulfillment process.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team of software development and data engineers to build and maintain scalable software that forms the backbone of Amazon's supply chain planning.
- Regularly partner in organizational tech reviews to continually raise the bar on engineering best practices.
- Educate and encourage team members to continue to learn, identifying the newest optimal technology for incorporation into the software.
- Interface directly with both tech teams and business teams in the supply chain to understand pain points, and build roadmaps for long-term software solutions.
- Work closely with science teams building advanced machine learning and optimization modeling to incorporate their products into the larger software ecosystem.
Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience in engineering team management
- Experience in engineering
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Experience working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage
