We are looking for a PR specialist to join Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios in Mexico. Based in Mexico City you will be an entertainment communications professional who will lead publicity campaigns for Amazon MGM Studios global and local original content.
This role requires an accomplished PR professional who will serve as a strategic media relations partner for Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, cultivating and maintaining vital relationships with media representatives to drive positive sentiment across publications. The ideal candidate will excel at managing complex communications programs that require coordinating multiple stakeholders while delivering clear, consistent messaging that aligns with broader business objectives. You will navigate the distinct cultural, editorial, and operational nuances of the Mexican market while maintaining alignment with global campaign vision. You will leverage data-driven insights to identify media trends, track sentiment patterns, and make informed recommendations on reputational risk management. Core responsibilities include developing comprehensive PR strategies and optimizing cross-functional workflows to ensure operational excellence. Success in this position requires someone who can effectively balance strategic planning with tactical execution, demonstrate strong project management capabilities, and drive productive outcomes through stakeholder collaboration. Key job responsibilities
• Develop and execute PR strategies for Prime Video content across all formats, ensuring maximum visibility and positive media coverage while maintaining alignment with global campaign vision
• Lead strategic media relations efforts by cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key journalists, industry influencers, and media outlets
• Orchestrate high-impact events including premieres, press junkets, and talent interviews, while managing end-to-end logistics and stakeholder coordination
• Manage end-to-end planning and execution of press activity (press tours, junkets) including schedule development, logistics coordination, and day-of execution oversight
• Serve as primary liaison with talent representatives (agents, managers, publicists) regarding local PR strategy, communicating opportunities, schedule requirements, and priority asks
• Drive data-informed decision making through monitoring and analysis of PR metrics, media sentiment, and campaign effectiveness, identifying opportunities to optimize strategy in real time
• Craft compelling narratives and press materials that align with Prime Video's business objectives and resonate across multiple channels
• Coordinate cross-functional communications with various Amazon businesses and marketing, events, and business teams to ensure PR activations are integrated with broader campaigns and release strategies
• Identify and capitalize on emerging trends, cultural moments, national holidays, and country-specific tentpoles to elevate Prime Video's brand presence
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Established network of media and industry contacts
- Written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Experience working with talent representatives (agents, managers, publicists) in a publicity context
- Experience managing agency or vendor relationships with clear objective-setting and performance accountability

- Deep understanding of the Mexican media landscape and entertainment industry
