As an Amazon Field Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will be the ‘go to’ engineering resource for your region when technical advice is needed, and will use your subject matter expertise and engage with diverse teams.

• Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers in your region.
• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.
• Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including critical equipment, and event support.
• Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions, which add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency.
• Interface with internal data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
• Initiate and lead engineering audits including on-site visits within Amazon’s owned or colo data centers. Produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediation's
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects. Support construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Basic Qualifications

- 1) Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or demonstrable equivalent professional experience.
- 2) Minimum 8 years of relevant experience working in mission-critical facilities such as data centers, power generation plants, OEM vendors (Original Equipment manufacturers) or oil/gas facilities.
- 3) Knowledge of Mechanical systems and design principles for data centers, including: the candidate would have deep and detailed knowledge of the Equipment having worked in a related Company/handled specifically these systems (Eg Chillers, AHUs, Piping, Valves, Air quality, Fuel Systems, Automation (BMS) etc)
- 4) Strong written and verbal communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining high-quality work standards.

Preferred Qualifications

- Well-organized with strong prioritization capabilities, leadership qualities, and effective problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with applicable local building codes and regulatory requirements.
- Background as a resident engineer or field-based design consultant with practical experience reviewing, interpreting, and developing construction drawings, technical specifications, and submittal documentation.
- Demonstrates alignment with Amazon's leadership principles as required for this position.
- Exhibits the functional and technical depth and complexity expected by Amazon for this role.
- Master's degree or higher in engineering, business, or a related discipline.
- Proven capability to formulate solutions and implement execution plans for complex projects.
