Managing base building equipment operation and maintenance including building structure, shelving, power distribution and allied switchgears, and HVAC systems
Facilities & soft services management including building hygiene, housekeeping equipment management, and employee benefits programs
MHE Automation & Controls including high-tech intelligent sorter and conveyors, material handling equipment, sort slides, carts, cages, trolleys, hand pallet trucks (CCTH), and control hardware/software such as PLC, HMI, SCADA, and VFDs
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, vendor management skills, and the ability to independently handle shift operations while ensuring equipment reliability and operational excellence.
Key job responsibilities
Base Building Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Execute preventive and reliability-centered maintenance on electrical systems (LV/MV breakers, relays, transformers). Respond swiftly to breakdowns with clear stakeholder communication. Support inventory shelving changes and maintain deck plates/side guards. Monitor Heat Index, coordinate with HVAC technicians on breaches, and report root causes to RME Manager. Maintain HVAC systems (chillers, pumps, AHUs) and work with BMS components (damper valves, servo actuators, BACnet protocols). Supervise PEB structure audits, manage work permits with WHS, review critical spares in APM store, and maintain facilities (washrooms, cafeteria, driver rooms) with 3P MSTs.
Facilities & Soft Services Management
Lead cleanliness operations and soft services quality assurance. Develop cleaning schedules, manage vendor relationships, and ensure safety compliance. Handle chemical/waste protocols, pest management, and system documentation (PR/PO, attendance, waste/scrap). Manage housekeeping equipment fleet (auto scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, Ride-On machines), drive cost control initiatives, and maintain horticulture/green areas.
MHE Technology & Controls
Troubleshoot PLC code, fieldbus IO, SCADA, and Warehouse Control Systems. Build/commission electrical controls and instrumentation panels. Work with industrial protocols (ProfiBus, ProfiNet, Ethernet IP) and barcode technology. Maintain schematics/SOPs, analyze metrics for optimization, and lead controls-related issue resolution within the shift team.
A day in the life
The RME Coordinator starts the shift by reviewing pending maintenance tickets, checking equipment status dashboards, and conducting handover from the previous shift. Throughout the day, they lead site inspection rounds, monitor critical area cleaning status, review housekeeping attendance and deployment, and respond to breakdown calls for MHE and base building equipment. They coordinate with vendors for service completion, process purchase orders, review pest monitoring reports, validate machinery running status, and generate performance reports. The day ends with a review of task completion with supervisors, planning next day's resource allocation, addressing escalations, and updating compliance documentation.
