Lead transformational projects that shape how Amazon manages tax reporting and compliance across the globe. In this role, you'll bridge tax expertise, process innovation, and technology to solve complex challenges at scale, directly influencing how we operate in markets worldwide.
Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end project delivery for Foreign Reporting & Compliance initiatives—developing comprehensive project plans, tracking progress against milestones, managing dependencies, and communicating clear status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify and drive process improvements across tax reporting and compliance workflows by analyzing current operations, establishing performance metrics, and implementing changes that streamline work and reduce cycle times.
- Translate stakeholder needs into actionable specifications by gathering requirements from tax, accounting, and audit teams, documenting them clearly, and ensuring technology teams have what they need to execute effectively.
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions that automate manual processes, enhance data accuracy, and improve operational efficiency across our tax and compliance functions.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration as a subject matter expert on foreign reporting and compliance, bringing together sponsors, project owners, and operational teams to align priorities, resolve conflicts, and deliver results.
A day in the life
As a Senior Tax Program Manager for our Foreign Reporting & Compliance team, you'll spend your time orchestrating initiatives that touch every corner of our tax operations. You might start your morning reviewing project timelines with stakeholders across tax, accounting, and audit, then shift into translating their compliance requirements into technical specifications that our technology partners can build against. You'll facilitate collaborative sessions where you help teams see how a new process or system solves real problems—reducing manual work, improving accuracy, or accelerating reporting cycles. Throughout the day, you'll move between strategic conversations with leadership about where we should focus next and hands-on work documenting solutions, managing dependencies, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. You'll also spend time identifying where we can do things better, smarter, or faster—then championing those improvements across teams.
About the team

We're building toward a future where our processes are more automated, our data is more reliable, and our teams can focus on strategic work rather than manual tasks. You'll be a key connector in this vision, helping us break down silos and create solutions that scale. We value people who bring curiosity, collaborative energy, and a genuine commitment to understanding the problems we're solving before jumping to answers.
