Are you customer obsessed, fluent in cloud and AI, and eager to help customers build at unbelievable scale? Join our collaborative team dedicated to helping Amazon achieve new possibilities by leveraging AWS.
We're seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager, as an individual contributor on the AWSI PLUS team. You will own the lifecycle of complex, cross-organizational technical programs across AWS's most critical internal customer. You will manage multiple concurrent workstreams spanning capacity planning, region migrations, infrastructure scaling, and AI/ML adoption, stitching together a coherent narrative for executive leadership while proactively identifying and mitigating risk.
This is not a role for someone who waits for problems to surface. You will operate at the intersection of deep technical understanding, methodical program execution, and executive influence, driving clarity where ambiguity exists, building mechanisms that scale, and establishing trust with VPs and SVPs across AWS and SDO.
Key job responsibilities
Multi-Workstream Program Ownership
• Own end-to-end delivery of significantly complex, cross-functional technical initiatives spanning multiple VP organizations (AWS Infrastructure, Compute, AI/ML Services, SDO eCF)
• Drive simultaneous workstreams (capacity migrations, region flexibility, demand forecasting, service scaling) with clear dependencies, milestones, and accountability
• Stitch together disparate workstream narratives into a unified, coherent story for leadership reviews (Top-5, QBRs, S-Team updates).
Proactive Risk Identification and Mitigation
• Develop mechanisms to surface risk early: capacity gaps, service dependencies, migration blockers, and timeline slips before they escalate
• Own escalation paths and drive resolution at the right level. You are escalated TO, not escalating up.
• Build data-driven risk models that inform executive decision-making.
Technical Depth and Influence
• Understand system architectures deeply enough to challenge engineering teams, spot risks in technical proposals, and drive simplification.
• Evaluate capacity plans, service scaling signals, and infrastructure trade-offs with confidence.
• Influence architecture decisions across service teams to unblock innovation and accelerate delivery
Executive Relationship Building
• Advise VPs and SVPs directly. Present at leadership forums with credibility.
• Build trusted relationships across AWS and SDO leadership (Infrastructure, Compute, AI/ML, eCF)
