Amazon Mexico's Legal Department is looking for a Compliance Specialist to join the Mexico Legal team. This role combines in-depth legal research with front-line execution — translating regulatory mandates into actionable corporate policies that proactively protect consumers while resolving disputes, addressing consumer harm, and ensuring timely redress when compliance gaps materialize. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in regulatory compliance, litigation and AI and automation — leveraging technology to scale compliance operations, reduce manual intervention, and drive continuous improvement across workflows and processes.
This role operates at the intersection of legal strategy and operational execution. The Compliance Specialist will identify systemic risks, design scalable compliance frameworks, and deploy AI-driven solutions to monitor, detect, and remediate compliance gaps in real time. Together, these functions form a continuous, self-reinforcing feedback loop that proactively manages compliance risks across the Mexico store.
Key job responsibilities
Research and advise — Research a variety of laws and regulations, develop and implement compliance actions, and advise legal and business teams on findings and proposed actions.
Balance compliance obligations — Balance the needs of Amazon's customers and sellers against Amazon's compliance obligations; actively monitor the health of existing compliance controls, handle appeals from the Compliance Operations program, and identify and execute compliance improvements.
Scale compliance solutions — Work across organizations and geographies to scale compliance solutions to match business growth and changing legal risk profiles, including identifying opportunities for operational improvements and collaborating with global legal and operations partners to ensure consistent adoption of best practices and compliance tools.
Leverage AI and automation — Identify, design, and implement AI-driven tools and automated workflows to enhance compliance monitoring, streamline legal research, and reduce cycle time across compliance operations.
Support litigation readiness — Collaborate with the Mexico Litigation team to ensure compliance findings, documentation, and remediation actions are litigation-ready and defensible.
A day in the life
