Amazon is hiring a Systems Development Engineer to build the intelligent automation that keeps 540,000 Amazonians connected across 500+ offices worldwide. This is your chance to join our specialist international team that designs, builds and maintains the infrastructure of one of the largest corporate networks on the planet.
As a Systems Development Engineer, in this team you will be part platform engineer, part operations owner, building the systems that manage our vast corporate network. You and your team will work on tools ranging from automation tooling for site launch, network tooling, device management and monitoring as well as CRUD applications. You'll do all of this via unrivalled access to AWS technology.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and build scalable system components for automation, observability, and SaaS integrations.
- Manage end-to-end solutions from initial design through to final delivery.
- Provide operational support for owned systems, including participation in the on-call rotation.
- Own component architecture and lead technical trade-off decisions.
- Resolve root causes of complex problems using cross-domain technical expertise.
- Automate and simplify development, testing, and operational workflows.
- Develop automation systems for deployment and hardware lifecycle management.
- Build and monitor AWS-native applications focused on corporate office space management.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience with networking fundamentals including hands-on experience with load balancers, switches, routers, etc.
