We are looking for a versatile Programming Manager who is responsible for designing and executing the content programming and release strategy for Prime Video AVOD in India. This person will own how content reaches and engages viewers — deciding what content goes where, when, and for which audience. They will work in collaboration with Content, Product, Marketing, Customer Insights, and Business Intelligence teams to build programming frameworks that maximise viewership and engagement. This role will also focus on catalogue strategy, storefront curation, content mix optimisation, goaling and performance measurement. As a result of the broad scope and critical nature of the position, the role will interact with leadership at multiple levels in the company.
Key job responsibilities
Own the overarching programming and release strategy for AVOD — sequencing content across formats, genres, and audience cohorts to maximise viewership
Define release strategy and calendars across content types including originals, new titles, libraries, local, and international content
Influence storefront programming, personalization, and merchandising decisions in partnership with Marketing and Product to improve discovery and browse-to-play conversion
Own content release plan optimization based on performance data to ensure every customer sees width and depth of content while ensuing every title finds its rightful audience
Own and present to senior leadership key performance metrics around content performance, viewership by category, and programming effectiveness
Evaluate programming performance after each cycle, translating insights into sharper decisions and clear inputs into content acquisition briefs
Create strong customer backwards frameworks including research, insights and data backed learnings
Collaborate with other teams of the Prime Video org including Content, Marketing, Product, Business Intelligence, Customer Insights to drive programming outcomes
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional non-internship experience in content programming, scheduling, release strategy, or related roles
- Experience in streaming, broadcast, or digital media programming
- Experience balancing editorial judgement with data-driven decision making
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional content or programming initiatives
- Experience measuring content or programming performance across formats and channels
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the Indian content ecosystem across languages, genres, and formats
- Experience presenting ideas to various levels of an organization to gain support for initiatives
