The RISC team charter is to protect Amazon customers from products that are illegal, illegally marketed, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited by Amazon policies. In this role, you will work closely with legal, business teams, selling partner experience and support teams, operational excellence, product, BI and data science/engineering teams to deliver high-impact end-to-end safety and compliance solutions. Think of this role as a non-technical "solution architect" where you will be given autonomy to develop strategies and build effective controls to ensure product safety and compliance worldwide.
The Risk Manager drives the development and implementation of tools and programs that advance the store's global safety and compliance efforts. This role requires influencing cross-functional stakeholders, supporting strategic projects with legal and business partners, and contributing to team initiatives while ensuring compliance with Amazon quality standards. The Risk Manager will support the development of daily, weekly, and monthly metrics and is expected to meet safety and regulatory compliance program expectations.
Key job responsibilities
• Define control health management strategy and ensure product safety and compliance controls are effective worldwide.
• Lead execution and maintenance of proactive safety solutions of large-scale category for worldwide stores and apply learnings globally.
• Build mechanisms and send out communication to leaders on the progress.
• Collaborate with legal, technical, and business teams to support safety and compliance solutions.
• Manage cross functional teams indirectly involved with the execution of the program.
• Partner with Business intelligence teams to build required reporting and sharing periodic updates with leaders.
• Build processes and automate workflows where possible with the use of AI.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience handling confidential information
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel
- 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
