Responsible for leading day-to-day Outbound operations within the fulfillment center, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused execution across Pick, Pack, Sort, and Ship functions.
Lead and develop Area Managers, Process Assistants, and associates to deliver business and operational targets.
Own key Outbound KPIs including TPH/UPH, productivity, quality, attendance, labor utilization, CPT adherence, and throughput.
Manage shift execution from Start of Shift (SOS) through end-of-shift, ensuring staffing, equipment, volume, and operational readiness.
Analyze performance gaps and develop structured root-cause analysis and recovery plans to improve productivity and eliminate recurring losses.
Drive labor planning and headcount allocation across P1–P5 shifts based on forecast, capacity, volume, and operational requirements.
Partner with Planning, Learning & Development, ACES, RME, WHS, HR, and Transportation to resolve operational constraints and improve end-to-end flow.
Own Outbound capacity and peak-readiness initiatives, including throughput planning, capacity modeling, process optimization, and contingency planning.
Ensure compliance with Amazon safety standards, standard work, quality requirements, and operational policies.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, 5S, VSM, and data-driven problem solving to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
Monitor and escalate risks related to CPT misses, TRB, equipment availability, staffing gaps, low APU, backlog, and shipment constraints.
Coach and develop associates and leaders through performance management, talent development, succession planning, and structured feedback.
Communicate operational performance, risks, and action plans to senior leadership through daily, weekly, and monthly business reviews.

Develop and coach frontline leaders and associates, driving performance, engagement, talent development, and succession planning.
Monitor and proactively manage operational risks including CPT misses, TRB, backlog, low APU, staffing gaps, and equipment constraints.
Present performance trends, business risks, and improvement plans to senior leadership through structured business reviews.

A day in the life
Review daily volume, forecast, capacity, staffing, and operational priorities before SOS.
Conduct SOS readiness checks covering HC, attendance, labor allocation, equipment, backlog, and process readiness.
Monitor Outbound performance across Pick, Pack, Sort, and Ship throughout the shift.
Track key metrics including TPH/UPH, CPT adherence, productivity, quality, backlog, and labor utilization.
Reallocate labor and resources based on real-time volume, performance, and operational constraints.
Conduct floor walks and engage with Area Managers, Process Assistants, and associates to identify and resolve barriers.
Review performance gaps and implement real-time corrective actions to protect throughput and customer commitments.
Monitor CPT, TRB, backlog, APU, equipment availability, and shipment risks, escalating issues when required.
Review attendance, indirect hours, training impact, and labor dilution against the plan.
Coach and provide feedback to frontline leaders and associates on performance, standard work, and leadership behaviors.
Coordinate with Planning, RME, WHS, L&D, HR, ACES, and Transportation on operational issues and dependencies.
Complete end-of-shift performance review, document gaps and root causes, and define follow-up actions for the next shift.
About the team
The Outbound Operations team is responsible for safely and efficiently processing customer orders from Pick through Pack, Sort, and Ship, ensuring orders are delivered on time and in line with customer expectations.
The team is made up of Area Managers, Process Assistants, and frontline associates, working together to deliver daily volume, productivity, quality, and CPT targets. We operate through strong floor leadership, real-time problem solving, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
