Amazon is seeking an Area Manager at our Nova Santa Rita/RS Distribution Center. This role will focus on Team Safety, Operational Quality, Team Management, delivering the best customer experience, and exceeding productivity targets.
Key job responsibilities
• Ensure safety throughout shifts by implementing preventive measures to avoid accidents. When incidents occur, conduct thorough investigations and propose specific corrective actions.
• Deliver daily quality metrics by developing innovative and simplified processes that enable your team to consistently meet performance targets.
• Drive daily productivity and capacity targets by removing operational barriers and optimizing headcount allocation.
• Develop and up skill your team following the "Raise the Bar" leadership principle.
• Execute improvement projects to completion with measurable results.
A day in the life
As an Area Manager, your goal will be to ensure resources are in place for these activities to be completed effectively. This means ensuring:
- Team members are in the correct positions
- Operational routines are followed
- Productivity targets are met
- Training is up-to-date
- Problems are resolved quickly and permanently
When metrics fall below target, you will be responsible for investigating to find the root cause and implementing corrective actions.
Ps.: This role requires schedule flexibility, especially during peak demand periods.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation logistics
- Work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and Lean techniques
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
- Experience in Business English skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English at C1 level or above
