Join Amazon's Operations Legal Department to provide strategic legal counsel on workplace health and safety matters across our European operations. You'll advise business leaders on compliance with European safety regulations and navigate regulatory interactions. Our lawyers value working alongside and in person with their business clients and local legal teams to solve a constant flow of novel challenges in a growing and exciting business. This position can be based in either our offices in Luxembourg or Madrid. Some regional and international travel will be required.
Key job responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day legal counsel to operations and safety teams on workplace safety regulatory compliance
- Drive the legal response to workplace incidents and escalations, partnering with senior and country-specific counsel as needed
- Assist in managing regulatory interactions, including inspections, investigations, and information requests from national authorities
- Monitor changes in workplace health and safety regulations across jurisdictions and advise on necessary business adaptations
- Support the development and improvement of health and safety compliance policies, procedures, and training materials
- Work cross-functionally with technology teams to implement automated compliance solutions
- Help build and maintain productive relationships with regulatory agencies across Europe
A day in the life
You'll provide real-time advice to operations and safety partners on practical compliance questions, from interpreting local regulations to coordinating the legal responses to regulatory interactions. Expect a mix of independent research, collaborative policy work, and real-time counseling. The work is fast-paced, intellectually challenging, and directly connected to employee safety.

Our team works closely with stakeholders to develop industry-leading compliance and safety solutions. Safety is a top priority for Amazon's leadership, giving our work significant visibility at senior levels.
Basic Qualifications
- License to practice law in Europe, US or other common law jurisdiction
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- A minimum of 2+ years post-qualification legal experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Workplace Safety Law
- Experience in Regulatory Law
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
