We are looking for a motivated and analytical Capacity Planning Analyst to support the On-the-Road (OTR) transportation planning for Amazon Logistics First Mile in Brazil. In this role, you will support the planning of routes, vehicle allocation, and transportation capacity across First Mile nodes (Sellers → Pick-Up Nodes → Seller Processing Centers), helping ensure the right number of vehicles is deployed at the right time to meet demand while optimizing cost-to-serve.
You will work under the guidance of the Capacity Planning Manager, collaborating with regional OTR operations leaders, network design, and middle mile teams. This is a high-growth role with clear development path — you will gain deep exposure to end-to-end transportation planning while contributing to the maturation of First Mile OTR capacity processes.
Key job responsibilities
- Support the weekly OTR capacity planning cycle: gather inputs, update route/vehicle allocation spreadsheets, and communicate capacity plans to regional teams
- Maintain and update the OTR capacity model based on demand signals (S&OP forecast), tracking route requirements and fleet sizing across all First Mile nodes
- Support the implementation of the SPR (Shipments per Route) model for First Mile, assisting in data collection, calibration, and reporting
- Engage with OTR operation leaders in all regions to collect transportation needs, flag discrepancies, and escalate capacity gaps
- Support the improvement of cubic feet (volume) data accuracy by partnering with operations teams to establish and monitor measurement processes
- Analyze route performance data (truck utilization, planned vs. actual) and identify opportunities for consolidation and cost optimization
- Build and maintain planning tools, dashboards, and reports that provide visibility into OTR capacity metrics
- Document current-state workflows and contribute to process improvement initiatives by researching best practices and proposing solutions
- Prepare data and materials for weekly FM Capacity Planning review meetings
A day in the life
- Review prior week's OTR performance (planned vs. actual routes, truck utilization). Flag nodes with significant variances to your manager and regional ops leads.
- Update weekly OTR capacity plan based on latest S&OP forecast. Adjust route/vehicle allocations per node. Distribute updated plans to regional teams.
- Work on improvement projects (SPR model data collection, cubic feet data improvement, route consolidation analysis).
- Prepare weekly capacity summary and support the FM Capacity Planning review meeting. Highlight risks and capacity gaps for the following week.
