Amazon Japan Operations' HR division (PXTX: People Experience and Technology Excellence) is seeking a Cluster PXT Manager.
This role is for someone who is passionate about "achieving significant results with a lean, elite team," who does not cling to conventional approaches, and who can independently build and drive a new HR model that balances standardization and innovation. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in uncertain and changing environments and can demonstrate leadership by autonomously engaging stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
People Management & Talent Development
- People management of PXTX members (HR members based at multiple sites across Japan)
- Development and career growth support for team members (building a successor pipeline)
- Coaching members on their HR work to improve quality of execution in areas such as labor management, organizational development, talent management, recruiting, and employee relations (ER)
Driving and Standardizing HR Generalist Functions
- As a people manager, personally lead complex HR Generalist work (labor management, organizational development, talent management, etc.) and serve as a role model for the team
- Understand the complexities unique to fulfillment and delivery station sites (multi-site operations, shift-based work schedules, management of large-scale hourly workforce, seasonal fluctuation response, etc.) and build/operate standardized processes with a focus on employee experience
- Exercise appropriate judgment and escalation on complex labor and ER cases, and provide guidance and development to team members
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management
- Build trust-based relationships and maintain/strengthen partnerships with site managers across multiple business units
- Drive cross-functional work and standardization through collaboration with multiple HR teams
- Negotiate and coordinate optimal allocation of business needs and HR resources
- Manage stakeholder expectations and build consensus on priorities
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
- Lead projects for operational process efficiency and automation
- Team workload management, quality audits, data-driven issue identification and improvement proposals
- Participation in and reporting at business reviews
About the team
PXTX was established in June 2024 as an organization that delivers best-in-class HR partnership to employees through standardized operations and innovative solutions. The organization is currently in a phase of further expansion and evolution, differentiating itself from the traditional model of HR embedded within individual departments, and building a new model that drives HR Generalist functions across multiple business units.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience across multiple areas of HR Generalist functions (labor management, organizational development, talent management, recruiting, learning & development, employee relations, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience in people management and member development/career growth support
- Experience leading standardization and improvement of operational processes
- Experience building strong relationships and negotiating/reaching consensus with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to autonomously and flexibly plan and execute business travel based on business needs and impact
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Business level (able to read, write, and participate in meetings)
Preferred Qualifications
- HR practical experience in environments with complexities unique to fulfillment and delivery station sites (multi-site operations, shift-based work schedules, management of large-scale hourly workforce, seasonal fluctuation response, etc.)
- Experience leading organizational launches, large-scale organizational transformations, or cross-functional projects
- Experience managing geographically distributed teams or teams in remote work environments
- Experience collaborating with international stakeholders or leading cross-border projects
- Experience driving operational automation/efficiency through technology, and practical experience in data-driven decision-making
