We're looking for a Principal Product Manager - Tech who is passionate about designing best-in-class consumer app experiences within Prime Video. In this role, you'll own and shape the strategic direction for how millions of customers discover, engage with, and fall in love with content through delightful in-app experiences that drive deeper engagement and retention.
You'll obsess over key output metrics — hours of engagement and frequency of return visits — while feeling empowered to explore what resonates with customers across diverse viewing situations. You'll develop a deep understanding of customer sentiment and behavior, then translate those insights into experiences that surprise and delight. You'll be highly informed by data but apply high judgment to create a balanced perspective — looking beyond what's available in the data today to anticipate unmet needs and unlock new value for customers.
Key job responsibilities
•Vision & Strategy: Drive the vision, strategy, and execution of content experiences across Prime Video platforms that maximize customer engagement and long-term retention
•Customer Understanding: Develop a comprehensive understanding of content consumption patterns, viewing behaviors, customer sentiment, and unmet needs across various use cases and contexts
•Leadership & Influence: Set the bar for product thinking across the team — mentor other PMs, influence cross-org priorities, and represent the customer experience perspective in senior leadership forums
•Experience Design: Design and implement discovery and engagement solutions that surface the right content to the right customer at the right moment — creating experiences that feel personalized, intuitive, and delightful
•Innovation: Create innovative approaches to content presentation, navigation, and progression that make it effortless for customers to find what they love and keep coming back
•Quality & Polish: Ensure premium presentation quality across all content experiences by:
oMaintaining accurate, high-fidelity content representation
•Identifying and resolving presentation issues proactively
•Collaborating with upstream teams on catalog and metadata improvements
•Metrics & Learning: Define and analyze engagement and retention metrics to measure success, drive continuous improvement, and inform product direction.
•Collaboration: Partner closely with design, engineering, content, marketing, and analytics teams.
