Amazon's Grocery Robotics & Automation Systems (GRAS) team is seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive the end-to-end lifecycle of automation hardware programs, from site launch planning through sustaining operations. In this role, you will work at the intersection of systems engineering, operations, safety, and technical support, coordinating across internal Amazon teams and external automation vendors to deliver reliable, scalable robotics systems for our customers.
Amazon's GRAS team designs, deploys, and sustains the back-of-house automation systems that power grocery fulfillment across Amazon's growing network of micro-fulfillment centers and grocery distribution sites. Our portfolio spans multiple automation platforms and is scaling rapidly.
Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end program delivery for grocery automation initiatives, from requirements gathering and design through implementation, testing, and launch.
- Drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, operations, supply chain, and business teams to deliver automation solutions on time and within scope.
- Define and manage program roadmaps, milestones, and success metrics for automation deployments across grocery fulfillment centers.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies; escalate issues and develop contingency plans to maintain project velocity.
- Partner with engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure alignment between system design and operational needs.
- Develop and maintain program mechanisms (e.g., status reporting, review cadences, dashboards) to provide visibility to stakeholders and leadership.
- Lead post-launch analysis and continuous improvement efforts to optimize automation performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Author and present technical documents (design reviews, program updates, business cases) to senior leadership.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills; translate technical system status into clear updates for operations and engineering leadership audiences.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 2+ years of software development experience
- 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Knowledge of project management tools and software
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
