As the Sr Regional Manager for Data Center Strategy and Investment, you will be part of this group's leadership team and lead a small team to help promote the growth and shape the future of AWS's Data Center infrastructure in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in the data center industry in negotiating colocation contracts or purchasing real estate for data centers, and he/she should possess the business acumen that enables them to engage and interact at the CXO/VP level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with Data Center and Network engineers. He/she needs to be able to lead a team to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, and must have a demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts from a business and technical perspective to procure data center infrastructure.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead AWS’s Data Center Business Development team in ANZ to own and drive overall Infrastructure strategy.
- Understand the infrastructure market segments, customer base, and industry verticals in ANZ.
- Develop a strategic business development plan for target markets aligned with Infrastructure's strategic direction.
- Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g., product teams, Networking, Data Center Engineering, Legal, Tax).
- Oversee the team’s negotiation of key contracts from a business and technical perspective, and lead as required to reach desired outcome.
- Understand the technical requirements of our engineering teams and support to negotiate a deal that solves their requirements as well as the business objectives.
- Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new deals to ensure compliance with global AWS standards, practices and policies.
- Manage complex contract negotiations and serve as a liaison to the Legal group.
- Develop long-term strategic partnerships in support of our key markets.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in large complex deal negotiations with a successful track record
- Experience leading and managing a team
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, management, real estate, or another related field
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration or a related field
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure design, operations, or delivery
- Experience directly related to the design or construction of large data center facilities, either colocation or client owned/operated
