Amazon's WWOS organization is seeking a Director of Information Lifecycle Threat Evaluation Risk Assessment (ILTERA) to define and execute the enterprise-wide ILTERA strategy that enables Amazon to anticipate, quantify, and mitigate threats to its people, assets, and global supply chain – spanning physical, geopolitical, and convergence domains. This is a senior leadership role responsible for building and scaling a high-performing ILTERA function across 50+ countries. This role reports into the Worldwide Risk & Resilience organization and serves as the ILTERA pillar within Amazon's WWOS global security architecture. You will transform Amazon's threat assessment capability from reactive reporting to predictive, decision-grade insights that enable risk-informed decision-making at scale. The right leader thrives in ambiguity, builds exceptional teams, and sets the standard for how a Fortune 5 company anticipates and responds to emerging threats.
Key job responsibilities
- Define the strategic vision and multi-year roadmap for Amazon's ILTERA program, establishing priorities, resource allocation, and success metrics that align security investments to enterprise risk priorities
- Establish and govern Priority ILTERA Requirements in partnership with senior stakeholders, translating Critical Required Information needs into structured collection strategies that inform security decisions
- Build, develop, and lead a globally distributed team of ILTERA analysts and security professionals, setting clear performance standards and talent development
- Drive convergence analysis across physical, cyber, and geopolitical threat vectors, identifying blended threats that could disrupt Amazon's operations, supply chain, or workforce safety
- Assess and communicate threats to Amazon's people, facilities, and operations from targeted violence, terrorism, radicalization, organized crime, theft, and fraud, monitoring evolving modus operandi of internal and external threat actors and providing actionable Information to Loss Prevention, Investigations, and Security Operations
- Design and implement scalable risk quantification frameworks that translate threat assessments into business-impact language for executive level decision-making
- Own the crisis threat assessment capability for high-impact events (geopolitical instability, natural disasters, civil unrest), delivering real-time evaluations that inform crisis management protocols
- Own the ILTERA cycle end-to-end: direction, collection management (OSINT, field reporting, GEOINT, commercial data sources), analysis, dissemination, and feedback mechanisms
Basic Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive experience in security intelligence, threat assessment, or government intelligence, including 7+ years of direct people management with 3+ years leading geographically distributed teams
- Bachelor's degree in National Security, Political Science, International Relations, Intelligence Studies, Security Management, or a related analytical discipline
- Demonstrated experience developing and operationalizing enterprise-wide threat assessment frameworks for a large, complex global organization
- Proven experience establishing outcome-based metrics to measure assessment accuracy, prediction effectiveness, and the impact of risk-informed decisions on organizational security posture
- Track record of partnering with and influencing the most senior executives on security strategy and risk investment decisions
- Experience managing the full ILTERA cycle (direction, collection, analysis, dissemination, feedback) across multiple threat domains
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Security Studies, Intelligence Analysis, Strategic Intelligence, International Affairs, or MBA
- Experience at a Fortune 100 company or equivalent-scale government intelligence agency (e.g., CIA, DIA, NSA, MI6)
- Advanced certifications: CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), CTM (Certified Threat Manager), or CBCI (Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute)
- Deep expertise in OSINT platforms, GEOINT tools, commercial intelligence feeds, and leading intelligence programs at scale
- Experience with supply chain security, cargo crime mitigation, or transportation corridor risk assessment at global scale
- Experience with intelligence, law enforcement, or military operations countering complex adversaries, including organized crime, terrorism, and state-sponsored threats
- Proven ability to build ILTERA programs from the ground up, including organizational design, technology selection, and stakeholder alignment
