AWS is looking for a Senior Designer to play a critical role within our events design ecosystem and contribute to the broader AWS brand experience. This is an individual contributor role focused on experiential design, environmental graphics, and signage systems — bringing the AWS brand to life in physical and hybrid spaces at a scale few companies can match.
Working within the larger events design practice led by our Creative Director of Global Events, you will be a driving force in shaping how AWS shows up in physical and digital spaces — from our flagship re:Invent to regional Summits, executive briefings, and partner activations. You are equal parts creative leader and pragmatic executor: someone who can concept a bold environmental experience and then see it through to flawless production. You will also contribute to projects outside of events as a way to stretch, grow, and bring fresh perspective to the team.
This role requires a designer who thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments. You will work closely with the Creative Director of Global Events, event producers, brand strategists, creative leads, agency partners, and production vendors — bringing clarity, craft, and creative ambition to every touchpoint attendees encounter.
Key job responsibilities
Events & Experiential Design Leadership
Design and execute across AWS global events — concepting, developing, and producing environmental design, signage systems, wayfinding, stage scenic, branded installations, and immersive activations
Develop scalable design frameworks that flex across event types and sizes — from a 60,000-person conference to a 200-person executive dinner
Translate brand strategy into three-dimensional, multi-sensory experiences that create lasting impressions and reinforce AWS's position as the industry leader
Ensure consistency and quality across all event surfaces — digital signage, printed collateral, environmental creative, badges, swag, and interactive installations
Partner with technology teams to integrate digital and interactive elements into physical spaces thoughtfully
Event Systems & Environmental Graphics
Design and maintain comprehensive signage systems that guide attendees through complex venue environments with clarity and brand consistency
Develop modular, production-ready templates for various applications, from demo booths to badges, that scale across venues, languages, and regional contexts
Balance functional operational needs with brand storytelling and creative ambition
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnership
Work as a trusted creative partner to the Creative Director of Global Events, event producers, program managers, internal stakeholders, agencies, and vendors — bringing strategic design thinking to operational planning conversations
Participate actively in creative reviews, offering constructive feedback that elevates the work across the team
Collaborate with the broader Brand & Creative team on projects outside of events — campaigns, brand systems, digital experiences — contributing your perspective and growing your range
Digest conflicting feedback from multiple stakeholders, balance subjective opinions with objective constraints, and propose solutions that move decisions forward
Raising the Bar
Push creative boundaries within production realities — finding innovative solutions that surprise and delight without compromising feasibility or timeline
Bring outside inspiration from industries beyond tech — architecture, retail, hospitality, entertainment — to inform how AWS shows up in physical spaces
Document and share best practices, templates, and learnings that help the broader team execute events at a higher standard over time
Proactively identify opportunities to improve the attendee experience through design thinking
