Amazon Ads Strategy and Business Development is seeking an experienced Principal to lead strategic partnerships in Social Commerce. Social platforms are increasingly central to how customers discover products, engage with brands, and make purchase decisions. This role will shape how Amazon Ads participates in this rapidly evolving space.
The Principal will own a portfolio of Amazon Ads' most strategic social partnerships, expanding existing relationships into new areas, identifying growth opportunities, and developing first-of-their-kind advertising and social commerce experiences. This individual will look beyond today's products and partnerships to identify where Amazon's advertising, commerce technology, and measurement capabilities can create differentiated value for advertisers, customers, and partners.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, business development, and product. You will work closely with Amazon Ads leadership and cross-functional teams—Product, Engineering, Sales, Finance, Legal, and other BD organizations—to define opportunities, shape business and product strategy, structure and negotiate partnerships, and bring new initiatives to market.
The partnerships this role owns span multiple products, organizations, and business models, requiring navigation of complex commercial, product, technical, data, and strategic considerations. Success demands the ability to operate through ambiguity, develop a clear point of view with incomplete information, align senior stakeholders around a path forward, and translate strategy into execution.
We are seeking an innovative, analytical, and highly strategic leader who combines strong business judgment with the ability to build and execute complex partnerships. The ideal candidate is a self-starter energized by emerging business models, skilled at solving difficult problems, trusted by senior internal and external leaders, and able to move seamlessly between long-term strategy and detailed deal execution.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive Amazon Ads' social commerce partnership strategy, identifying opportunities to expand established relationships into new products, capabilities, business models, and customer experiences that deliver long-term growth.
- Own and grow strategic partner relationships, developing plans to deepen collaboration across advertising, creators, data, and measurement — and extending these partnerships as social channels evolve how consumers discover, engage with, and purchase products.
- Identify and drive partnership opportunities from concept through launch and scale, including strategic and financial assessment, partner engagement, deal structuring and negotiation, and go-to-market execution.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to develop new partner-enabled experiences, shape product priorities, and expand value for advertisers and partners.
- Influence senior stakeholders across commercial, product, technical, and corporate functions, clearly articulating strategic choices, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations in ambiguous or complex situations.
- Serve as a thought leader on how social commerce partnerships should evolve and where Amazon Ads can create the next generation of advertising and shopping experiences.
Basic Qualifications

- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- 7+ years of professional or military experience
