Amazon Grocery Retail Support (AGRS) is seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our AI Program team as an individual contributor focused on researching, designing, and driving the development of AI-native solutions that solve complex business problems across multiple verticals. In this role, you will work directly with associates, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the organization to understand operational processes, identify automation opportunities, and lead the end-to-end delivery of our most complex AI-native solutions.
You will serve as the bridge between business needs and AI capabilities, translating time-consuming manual workflows into intelligent, scalable solutions powered by Amazon's AI ecosystem, including Amazon Bedrock and Q Business. This role requires a unique blend of program management rigor, technical curiosity, and the ability to influence without authority across a diverse set of teams and verticals.
Key job responsibilities
● Process Discovery & Analysis: Conduct deep-dive sessions with team members at all levels to document and analyze current workflows, identifying high-impact automation candidates
● AI Research & Innovation: Continuously research and evaluate new AI technologies, frameworks, and Amazon-native resources (Bedrock, Q Business) to expand the solution toolkit
● Solution Design: Architect end-to-end AI-native solutions for the most complex use cases in the roadmap, including technical requirements, data flows, and integration points
● Program Delivery: Drive end-to-end delivery of AI initiatives from ideation through deployment, managing timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholder communications
● Stakeholder Management: Engage and influence stakeholders across multiple verticals and organizational levels to gain alignment, remove blockers, and drive adoption
● Metrics & Measurement: Define and track KPIs to measure operational efficiency improvements, solution accuracy, and business impact
● Change Management: Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of AI-native solutions across the organization
● Governance & Standards: Contribute to AI governance frameworks, intake processes, and standardized reporting mechanisms.
A day in the life
Your day begins with a sync meeting alongside associates and operational managers to understand a current process in detail. You ask the right questions, document each step, and identify where time is being consumed by repetitive or manual tasks. You capture these insights and begin mapping them against potential AI solutions.
Mid-morning, you shift to research mode, exploring new capabilities available, reviewing recently released AI models, and evaluating how emerging technologies could be applied to the specific challenges you've identified. You document findings and begin drafting a solution architecture for a complex use case on the roadmap.
After lunch, you might drive a working session with cross-functional partners to refine a solution design, working through integration requirements, data dependencies, and success criteria. You challenge the team to think bigger while keeping the solution grounded in feasibility and measurable outcomes.
Later in the afternoon, you prepare a program update for leadership. You translate technical progress into business impact metrics, highlight risks and mitigation plans, and propose next steps. You close the day by reviewing your backlog of use cases, re-prioritizing based on new insights, and setting up tomorrow's discovery sessions.
No two days are the same, but every day involves curiosity, collaboration, and driving meaningful progress on AI-native solutions that transform how the team works.
About the team
Amazon Grocery Retail Support (AGRS) is a dynamic organization within Amazon that supports multiple business verticals across the grocery retail portfolio. The AGRS AI Program is one of our 2026 Big Bet, a strategic initiative designed to elevate AI maturity across the organization and redefine what is possible across every business vertical.
Leveraging Amazon's AI ecosystem, including Amazon Bedrock and Q Business, the AI Program evaluates, automates, and optimizes processes across the AGRS portfolio. We target 10-15% operational efficiency improvements by automating processes that currently consume 25-35% of workforce effort, with proven success rates of 99% accuracy. Our program operates across three progressive phases: from assessment and benchmarking, through implementation and adoption, to full-scale transformation.
Our tenets guide everything we do: we establish clear baselines before we build, we leverage Amazon's own AI ecosystem first, we augment human capability rather than replace it, we deliver value in agile cycles, we build for scalability without compromise, and we earn trust through transparency and ethical AI use.
This is a team that moves fast, thinks big, and is genuinely changing how work gets done at Amazon.
