ABOUT THIS ROLE
This is a senior, 18-month fixed-term production role within the Non-Fiction team at Audible. You will lead the end-to-end production of a defined slate of premium, format-led non-fiction audio titles; pushing creative and editorial boundaries to set new standards for the genre.
This position exists to deliver a defined slate of premium non-fiction titles that require senior creative production expertise and innovative format development during a specific production cycle.
We're looking for someone with the creative vision and editorial authority to develop innovative production approaches, manage high-profile talent relationships with credibility, and deliver complex, multi-format productions autonomously. This role requires experience and seniority beyond that of a standard producer.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for a duration of 18 months.|

As the Associate Director, Production Non-Fiction you will...
- Lead the end-to-end production of a defined slate of premium non-fiction titles from development through to final delivery within the 18-month contract period
- Develop and deliver new production formats for this slate that demonstrably advance the creative ambition of Audible's non-fiction output, with all formats documented and delivered by contract end
- Manage high-profile talent relationships with authority, credibility, and emotional intelligence for these specific productions
- Provide creative input and editorial feedback across the titles within this slate
- Collaborate with internal teams including Production Support, Business Affairs, Marketing, and Commissioning to ensure launch readiness for each title
- Maintain the highest editorial standards and oversee compliance across all productions within this slate
- Establish innovative production approaches for non-fiction audio, delivering a documented framework that can be adopted by the wider team at project close
- At the end of this contract, hand over all completed productions, documented frameworks, and associated assets to the permanent Non-Fiction team

Basic Qualifications
- Experience producing premium short-form and/or long-form non-fiction audio or video content
- Experience managing high-profile talent and complex stakeholder relationships in a production environment
- Experience in studio production, including sound recording, editing, and sound design
- Experience managing budgets
- Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously to delivery
- Background in radio, podcasts, music, or broader media industries
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with audio editing software (ProTools, Adobe Audition, Reaper)
- Experience with immersive audio formats
- Experience interpreting audience insights and research data
- Understanding of digital content services and streaming platforms
- Strong editorial judgment with a track record of innovating within production formats
- Experience with script development, talent direction, and script editing for non-fiction content
