Amazon Music Japan is looking for a Content & Partnerships Manager to join our team in Tokyo.
Amazon Music Japan's original content strategy is built around a clear customer loop: fans discover Amazon Music content through Prime Video and Fire TV, engage with the content, and convert into active music streamers through integrated in-content experiences. This role sits at the center of that loop — ensuring productions are delivered on time, content reaches customers across the right surfaces, and partners are managed with rigor.
This is a high-ownership execution role spanning original content and live-streaming production, Prime Video and Fire TV coordination, and sponsorship operations. You will manage external production partners and agencies, coordinate with Prime Video and Fire TV teams on content delivery and surface integration, support sponsorship activation and fulfillment, and work closely with internal stakeholders across Global Content, Marketing, Artist Relations, Business Affairs, and Legal to bring productions to market on time and on budget.
The right candidate brings production project management experience, strong operational instincts, and the ability to work fluidly across Japanese and English-speaking stakeholders at all levels.
Key job responsibilities
Content Production
- Own end-to-end project management of content productions from brief through delivery: manage timelines, vendors, budgets, and cross-functional deliverables across internal teams and external partners
- Manage artist booking logistics and production coordination with external production companies, in coordination with the internal Artist Relations and Label Relations teams.
- Coordinate with Prime Video and Fire TV teams on content delivery schedules, asset requirements, and surface integration — ensuring productions are technically and operationally ready for launch across all O&O endpoints
- Partner with Global Content, Artist Relations, Label Relations, and Legal/Business Affairs to ensure content agreements are in place, production milestones are tracked, and stakeholder alignment is maintained throughout production
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Marketing, Social, PR, and Product to ensure content launches are supported by integrated go-to-market plans
Sponsorship Operations & Partner Management
- Support sponsorship execution for designated Amazon Music Japan properties: manage partner deliverables, asset collection, activation coordination, and post-campaign reporting
- Coordinate with Amazon Ads stakeholders on sponsorship fulfillment and integrated media execution
- Support development of sponsorship materials and post-campaign reports in partnership with senior team members and global revenue teams
Performance & Planning
- Track and report on production and commercial performance; identify risks early and escalate with proposed solutions
- Connect content performance metrics - views, unique customers - to downstream Amazon Music growth outcomes including music first streams to evaluate production effectiveness
- Manage vendor and agency relationships: scope work, negotiate terms, and hold partners accountable to quality and delivery standards
- Contribute to annual content and partnership planning, including budget forecasting and post-mortem learnings
A day in the life
No two days look the same, but most involve moving between production detail and business context in the same hour.
You might start by reviewing a delivery schedule with a production company, then shift to resolving a platform spec issue with an internal team.
Midday could be unblocking a talent booking with Artist Relations, or preparing a sponsor deliverables tracker for a media agency.
In the afternoon, flagging a performance risk before it becomes a miss — then scoping a new production with a vendor. Throughout, you hold the operational picture across workstreams, in both Japanese and English, so nothing slips.
