Who You’ll Work With:
The Assets Under Management (AUM) team of AB is in search of an AUM Financial Analyst to join their U.S. Controller’s organization. The candidate will report to the Manager, AUM Reporting and will be involved in reporting the Company’s Assets Under Management (‘AUM”) internally and externally which includes the 10-Q’s, 10-K and Board level reporting. The position will partner with other members of the finance team including, General Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis and Revenue Accounting. In addition, key constituents will include, Information Technology, Operations, and Investor Relations.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare, review, and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly Assets Under Management (AUM) reports used by senior management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation and validation of external AUM disclosures, including earnings releases, investor presentations, quarterly 10-Q filings, and annual 10-K filings.
- Perform data validations and reconciliations across multiple systems to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of reported AUM.
- Analyze drivers of AUM changes, including market performance, client inflows and outflows, investment performance, acquisitions, and foreign exchange impacts.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes by providing AUM-related reporting and analysis.
- Partner with investment, distribution, product, operations, and finance teams to understand business activity and provide insights into AUM trends.
- Respond to ad hoc requests from senior management, Investor Relations, FP&A, and other business partners regarding AUM movements and business performance.
- Prepare management reporting packages, presentations, and executive summaries that communicate key trends and business drivers.
- Communicate and explain AUM activity, variances, and trends to management and key stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain reporting procedures and documentation to support internal control requirements and regulatory reporting obligations.
- Participate in the design, testing, and implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with Information Technology and business teams to identify system enhancements, data quality improvements, and reporting solutions.
- Support special projects related to business growth initiatives, new products, acquisitions, system implementations, and strategic reporting initiatives.
- Develop a strong understanding of AB's investment products, client channels, and business drivers to provide meaningful financial insights.
What We’re Looking For:
- 0–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, analytics, reporting, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, or other data analytics tools is a plus.
- Ability to work with large datasets and identify trends, anomalies, and key business drivers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to various audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new systems and business processes.
- Experience with financial services, asset management, or investment-related reporting is a plus.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to build effective working relationships across functions.
