Job Description- Works independently on routine tasks with minimal supervision; receives general guidance on new assignments
- Conducts land and site surveys using modern surveying instruments and electronic equipment
- Manages land information systems, including data storage, analysis, and reporting
- Reviews survey data (distances, angles, elevations) for accuracy and completeness
- Researches legal records to establish and verify boundary lines
- Prepares and verifies survey reports, maps, and drawings
- Applies strong expertise within specialization to solve varied and complex problems
Pre-Contract Duties- Prepare cost plans, budgets, and feasibility studies
- Perform quantity take-offs and prepareCESMM-based BoQs
- Develop tender documents and pricing schedules
- Evaluate bids and provide commercial recommendations
- Apply value engineering to optimize costs
Post-Contract Duties- Administer contracts (preferablyFIDIC )
- Monitor costs, forecasts, and cash flow
- Evaluate and negotiatevariations, claims, and payments
- Manageremeasurement and post-contract rates
- Lead commercial negotiations and handle disputes/claims
Contract Close-Out- Finalizefinal accounts
- ManageTOC and DLP processes
- IssueDefects Liability Certificates
- Ensure full contractual and financial closure
Qualifications- Minimum10 years of Quantity Surveying experience
- Strong experience ininfrastructure and utility projects , specifically:
- STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) and DM projects (Drainage/Design Management)
- Stormwater networks
- Irrigation systems
- Sewage and drainage connections
- Proven experience across all QS functions:
- Cost planning
- Quantity take-offs
- CESMM-based BoQs
- Estimation and tendering
- Claims evaluation and negotiation
- Post-contract administration
Additional Information- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc QS) – preferred
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction, Civil Engineering, or related field
Professional Certification- MRICS (Member of RICS) – preferred
- Equivalent professional membership considered an advantage
Skills & Competencies- In-depth knowledge ofCESMM standards
- Strong understanding of infrastructure utility works (STP, stormwater, irrigation, sewer)
- Familiarity withFIDIC and similar contract conditions
- Excellentcommercial, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Proficient inQS software and advanced MS Excel
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- High accuracy and attention to detail
Additional Requirements- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure/utility projects in urban environments
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong coordination with engineering and project management teams
