Job Description AECOM Mississauga is seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to join our Transportation team in Mississauga, Ontario. The successful candidate will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex rail, transit, and infrastructure projects by providing project management, technical integration, stakeholder coordination, and governance support throughout the project lifecycle. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, the Program Manager will collaborate with engineering, construction, operations, commercial, and client teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality, schedule, and budget objectives. This is a newly created role. Job Responsibilities The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery teams across rail, transit, and infrastructure projects.
- Support project planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out activities.
- Manage project scope, schedule, risks, issues, and action items to support successful delivery.
- Coordinate technical interfaces between engineering disciplines, contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Lead project meetings, design coordination sessions, and stakeholder workshops.
- Prepare project reports, presentations, dashboards, and executive briefing materials.
- Monitor project progress and support governance activities, including risk reviews, assurance processes, and milestone reporting.
- Support technical reviews, design coordination, and resolution of technical issues and non-conformances.
- Collaborate with project controls, commercial, scheduling, and estimating teams to support integrated project delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Promote continuous improvement, collaboration, and effective communication across project teams.
- Support business development and proposal activities as required.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Minimum 8 years of project management experience delivering rail and transit or major infrastructure projects.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery teams.
- Experience supporting project governance, stakeholder management, risk management, and project controls.
- Experience preparing technical reports, presentations, and project documentation for senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Experience delivering major rail and transit programs for public-sector clients.
- Experience working with Metrolinx, TTC, GO Expansion, or other large transportation agencies.
- Experience with technical integration, systems assurance, requirements management, and interface management.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary design coordination meetings and resolving technical issues across multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with progressive delivery models, collaborative contracting, or alternative delivery projects.
- Experience with engineering governance, readiness reviews, and assurance processes.
- Knowledge of Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) or railway operational environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing technical change, non-conformance resolution, and project risk mitigation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus across multidisciplinary teams.
