Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Resident Engineer to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the on-site representative responsible for ensuring project quality, safety compliance, and timely execution. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently while fostering strong collaborative relationships with contractors, design teams, and project stakeholders. - Supervise and monitor work quality, progress, and adherence to project schedules on site
- Verify that all site safety measures comply with approved supervision plans and relevant regulations
- Execute specific inspection tasks and checklists as directed by senior engineering staff
- Coordinate and mentor junior technical staff, ensuring comprehensive review of construction activities including foundation works, structural elements, and specialized installations
- Compile detailed supervision reports documenting work progress, non-conformities, and corrective actions; communicate findings transparently to senior management
- Review and verify that all construction works align with approved plans, temporary works designs, method statements, and protective measures
- Analyze and review contractor submissions for compliance and technical accuracy
- Monitor the performance and work quality of contractor technical personnel
- Attend and actively participate in site meetings and project coordination meetings
- Collaborate with the design office to address site-related issues and coordinate technical solutions
- Conduct factory and material inspections in accordance with applicable codes of practice and project requirements
- Maintain organized documentation and records of all site activities and inspections
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field; OR a higher diploma/certificate in engineering with equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 2 years of relevant site supervision and construction engineering experience (or 5+ years with diploma-level qualification)
- Demonstrated experience in supervising foundation works, structural construction, and specialized building systems
- Strong knowledge of construction contractual requirements, safety regulations, and quality assurance standards
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and construction method statements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proven ability to work independently and make decisive decisions in dynamic site environments
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Solid understanding of construction project management principles and cost awareness
- Proficiency in report writing, documentation, and data analysis
- Familiarity with UAE construction standards, regulations, and best practices (preferred)
- Adaptability and resilience in managing multiple priorities and challenging site conditions
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office applications (preferred)
- Valid professional engineering license or eligibility for registration in the UAE (preferred)
