Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated, goal-oriented Mechanical Engineer IV (HVAC) for our Atlanta, Georgia Buildings and Places Group. This role will consist of providing mechanical design on federal and commercial projects across the country and/or internationally, with a strong focus on timely delivery and Client satisfaction. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a strong desire to further their design capabilities and make significant contributions to substantial projects within a larger design initiative.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:- Design, including drafting, of mechanical systems for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems including engineering related calculations and development of drawings.
- Develop system narratives.
- Review / Edit Specifications.
- QA/QC of Mechanical designs.
- Working under supervision of a department leader.
- Able to manage teams and projects with minimal supervision.
- Assist in proposal development.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and six (6) plus years of related experience, which includes an understanding of Mechanical/HVAC systems for commercial buildings, experience and skills in mechanical systems building design, project management, and team leadership or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Experience working with federal clients.
- Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
- At least 4 years of experience with Energy Modeling (e.g. Trane Trace, IES, EnergyPlus, etc.).
- At least 4 years of experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
Preferred Qualifications- Registered professional engineer (PE).
- 8
+ years of related HVAC design experience. - Full understanding and ability to complete, accurate and coordinated project design assignments with ability to review team member’s work for quality and recognition of training requirements.
- Experience building HVAC infrastructure including but not limited to chilled water systems, condensing water systems, thermal distribution, hot water, steam and air side systems.
- Experience with sustainable design and energy efficiency projects.
- Successfully performed the role of a lead engineer on various projects and acted as the PM covering electrical and plumbing trades, in addition to the mechanical trade.
- Demonstrated understanding of Mechanical/HVAC systems for transportation, federal, corporate, commercial, educational, medical laboratory and sport facilities.
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to bring energy and enthusiasm to the office.
