Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inspector - Mechanical to join our team at our Al Ain, United Arab Emirates site office. Reporting to the Discipline Engineers, you will play a critical role in ensuring construction quality and compliance by conducting comprehensive site inspections, surveillance, and testing activities. Working collaboratively with your assigned engineer, you will monitor and document all contractor activities to support quality assurance, project compliance, and adherence to established standards and specifications.
- Read, comprehend, and interpret package contract documents, detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and health and safety protocols, including all associated updates and amendments
- Conduct thorough site inspections and surveillance to verify contractor compliance with contract standards, specifications, and quality requirements through systematic observation, precise measurements, and rigorous testing
- Monitor and document daily contractor manpower and equipment resources, ensuring accurate record-keeping and transparent reporting of all site activities
- Perform assigned site supervision and inspection duties as directed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE), maintaining organized documentation of findings
- Document all contractor personnel, equipment, activities, work locations, activity rationale, and construction methods and means utilized in assigned areas
- Track material deliveries and implement site instructions issued by project leadership with efficiency and precision
- Apply and enforce all quality control procedures and quality assurance protocols established for the project site
- Prepare site measurements, surveying checks, and technical assessments as required by project leadership
- Monitor conformance to quality, performance, and applicable code requirements through systematic inspection and testing duties
- Conduct ongoing Health and Safety surveillance of construction works, promptly reporting any violations or non-compliance issues to ensure a safe work environment
- Maintain transparent communication with team members and contractors, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or a related mechanical discipline
- Minimum 8 years of overall experience in construction supervision and inspection, with a minimum of 5 years of direct experience working on projects in the United Arab Emirates
- Proven experience in mechanical-type construction projects, including familiarity with mechanical systems, equipment, and infrastructure
- Demonstrated expertise in construction quality assurance, site inspection protocols, and compliance monitoring
- Strong knowledge of contract document interpretation and construction standards applicable to mechanical projects
- Proficiency in technical drawing interpretation and the ability to analyze mechanical specifications and blueprints
- Excellent documentation and report-writing skills with the ability to maintain organized, accurate records
- Solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations and construction site safety protocols
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, contractors, and team members
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies and non-compliance issues
- Problem-solving capability and the ability to make decisive recommendations based on inspection findings
- Familiarity with UAE construction regulations, standards, and local compliance requirements
- Proficiency in measurement tools, testing equipment, and site surveying techniques
- Preferred: Experience with construction management software and digital documentation systems
