Job Description:

Collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world

As Senior Capital Project Engineer you will play a key role for management and execution of projects in the division of 3M San Luis Potosi SL.P. Mexico. In this role you will be able to Leads cross-functional project teams from concept through successful completion of medium to high complexity projects. Negotiates project recommendations and implementation with business partners. Possesses recognized expertise in a particular field of technology. Applies technical specialty to business opportunities to optimize project management and capital expenditures. Identifies resources and determines project priorities, which may have a global focus. Anticipates potential project issues that may affect project success. Manages financial aspects of major project teams, including estimating expenditures, identifying financial alternatives, contributing to the creation of AFEs, purchasing materials and/or services, monitoring and tracking costs, and payments. Proficient in utilizing engineering, sourcing, and financial systems to stay within established budget guidelines.

The impact you will make in this role

• Provides engineering support and services throughout the project planning and execution phases.

• Implementation of automated control systems by developing, designing, and selecting the necessary hardware and software.

• will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform equipment maintenance, as well as provide solutions focused on continuous improvement.

• Analyse alternatives with suppliers, focusing on implementing the projects while ensuring the availability of manufacturing equipment, as well as completing the projects in accordance with the terms of the contract.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications: 

• Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field concluded.

• 5 to 7 years of experience as a project engineer and/or control and automation engineer.

• Intermediate and/or advanced spoken and written English.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: 

• Experience in project management, industrial process automation, and team leadership.

• Experience in the manufacturing and metalworking industries.

• AB and Siemens automation software. Fanuc robot programming.

Work Location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least five days a week at the 3M office in San Luis Potosi, Mexico

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic and 10 % international
